About THF Outdoors
Hi I’m Tyler. Welcome to THF Outdoors. I started this website and community in 2019 to share my outdoor adventures with you. I enjoy trapping, hunting, and fishing a lot and I want to share some of my experiences and tips.
Learn about our writers or how to become a writer on our writers page.
Trapping
I taught myself to trap with online resources and a lot of trial and error. Now I have been trapping several types of animals for about eight years. I am not a pro but I have learned a few things along the way.
Lately I have been trapping critters in the neighborhood to help the neighbors protect their gardens and yards from skunks and raccoons. It is interesting to see what baits are working and when the critters moving through the yards.
I head to the hills when I want to catch coyote. A coyote was the first critter that got me into trapping. They are super fun to catch and I want to teach people about how I learned to catch them.
Hunting
I have been going hunting all my life. Hunting was one of those things that was passed down to me by my great grandpa. He was an awesome hunter and he helped many people get deer and elk. He lived to be 103. Even at that age my dad would still take him out to the mountains and he loved it.
I hope to keep our family tradition alive and continue finding big bucks, bulls, buffalo, or coyotes. It is just awesome to get out of the house, even if you don’t shoot anything.
Fishing
Cooking fish over a fire seems to make the high mountain trout taste better. Until you have tried it, you are missing out on the entire experience of fishing.
Some of my earliest memories are of going fishing with my parents. My mom was especially excited to go fishing. At the end of a long day of fishing, all the kids would be in the car screaming and my dad would be saying “let’s go!!” but my mom would yell back “just one more cast…”
We have been fishing in lakes, ponds, streams, and my favorite underground streams. We have hiked to fish, driven long hours to fish, and have had some fun times in the mountains.
Conclusion
