Trap Pan Tension Tester
How To Use Trap Pan Tension Tester
So to check the pan tension of your trap you will want to do the following:
- Set the foothold trap you would like to test.
- Lift the loose jaw of the foothold trap up. This can help your trap pan tension tester to last longer if it does not get caught in the trap as often.
- Press down on the trap with the tension tester. Place the point of the tester in about the center of the pan. Placing it too close to the sides can give you a higher reading or lower reading depending on where you place it.
- As you push down on the tension tester watch the lines where the tension tester is compressing. Every time you pass a line you have another pound added to the tension.
- Watch out and don’t get caught in the trap!
