Utah Trappers License

There are two steps to getting a trapping license in Utah. First, you take the online portion of the course where you will go over laws and trapping education. After the online portion, there is a minimum 3-hour trapping field day where you learn in a hands-on environment.

Take Utah’s online trapping course here.

Attend a field day in your area.

To sign up for the field day you have to buy a Furharvester Education Registration Certificate. You can buy this certificate online but it does not contain the education number to register for the class. That only comes on the actual certificate. I would recommend buying this in person along with the Trap Registration Number. Visit a DWR office close to you.

Utah Trap Registration Number

All traps NOT within 600 feet of a building used by people or livestock must have a trapping tag with a Utah Trapping Registration Number on it. To obtain a trapping registration number visit a local DNR Office in Utah.
