What Can You Trap In Arizona?
Coyote
Coyote trapping tips and tricks
Coyotes are prevalent in most of the United States. They have learned to adapt to most habitats. In many states, coyotes are in season for hunting year-round.
Coyotes can be trapped in Arizona during the designated trapping season. The areas open to coyote season are state wide with a few exceptions. Make sure you see the trapping pamphlet for more info on traps and other rules.
Bobcats have a lot of rules that are listed in the Arizona trapping pamphlet. Most of the pamphlet is about rules for trapping bobcats.
Bobcats can be trapped during the designated trapping season. After a bobcat is trapped it is required to have a tag on the fur that you can get from the Arizona Game and Fish. This tag is attached to the fur or the carcass of the bobcat and is required to have the tag before you can sell the bobcat carcass or fur.
Red Fox

Red fox can be trapped during the designated season. There is no bag limit to the number of red fox you can catch during season. See the trappers pamphlet for more information.
I had Craig H., from Arizona, reach out and let me know that there aren’t many red fox in Arizona. The highest population will be up on the Navajo reservation. So don’t expect to catch many of them in the rest of the state. Thanks Craig!

Ringtail Cat

Ringtail cats are a an uncommon species to find but they reside in the western deserts. In Arizona they can be trapped during the specified trapping season. There is also no bag limit to the number of ringtail cats you can trap in Arizona.
Badger
When trapping most people do not target badgers specifically but they can be trapped in Arizona during the designated trapping season. There is no bag limit to the number of badger you can take during trapping season.
Beaver
Beavers are not an animal you would think would live in the desert state of Arizona but they do reside in many rivers and lakes in the state. The beavers can be trapped during the specified trapping season and there is not a bag limit on the number you can take during season.
Raccoons can be trapped in Arizona. They can be found along rivers or in large trees. Raccoons are commonly found near corn as well. They love it!
In Arizona raccoons can be trapped during the designated trapping season. There is no limit to the number of raccoons you can trap during trapping season.

Spotted Skunk

Spotted skunks are very similar to the normal striped skunks with just a different coloration. They fall under the same category as striped skunks in Arizona.

Weasels can be found in several different places. They like the edges of rivers and streams, but they can also be found in mountain forests as well.
