A coyote blind set is used along trails or where the coyotes are traveling. It is best used where you find a high concentration of coyote tracks. It can be used in snow or in dirt and is effective at catching coyotes.
A foothold trap is buried in the highly concentrated track area and no bait or lure is used. Good placement is essential because a coyote needs to blindly step on the trap.
Remember to blind this set in very well so a coyote doesn’t see anything different from the surrounding area and avoids stepping on the trap.
This set is similar to snaring but using a foothold trap. You put the trap where you expect a coyote to be and you don’t use bait or anything else at the set.
Placing this set where coyotes are going under a fence or through a game trail will increase your odds of a catch.
Another use is to use it near a set that you can see coyotes are coming close to investigate. Placing a trap or two without bait ten to twenty feet away from where they are passing your set but not committing might be a good solution to catching more coyotes.
